If you choose not to do both of these actions, the Vanity Fair icon will remain on your device and the app will remain accessible through it. In addition, to take advantage of having the latest issue automatically downloaded on to your device, go into your Settings on your iPad, select “Store” and turn on the automatic download switch for the Vanity Fair app.
